The Academic Computing Center is located on the second floor of the Engineering Library in Carpenter Hall. Available to the entire Cornell community, ACCEL offers a variety of hardware, software, and facilities for public use. Our phone number is (607) 255-5598.
There are three classrooms located on the second floor and one classroom on the first floor, which contain over 80 Windows computers with access to an Ubuntu (Linux) Virtual Machine and a Mac Workstation (with multimedia capabilities). In addition, there is an open computing space on the first floor of the library with 25 additional computers as well as a third classroom.
Each computer has a wide range of engineering software installed, from MATLAB to AutoCAD. Flatbed scanners, laser printers, DVD burners, and digital video creation stations are just a sample of the facilities available for use. ACCEL also has a computer configured with leading-edge assistive technology, and the ACCEL computing center is wheel-chair accessible.
Members of the Cornell community are welcome to borrow laptops and other equipment from the Engineering Library.
