Job Description
Consultants support the operation of the Academic Computing Center at the Engineering Library. The position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to excel in various technical areas (including TCP/IP networking and Linux/Windows server administration), excellent communication skills, and a high level of dependability. ACCEL consultants should have an independent and self-motivated work ethic.
ACCEL consultants often work the ACCEL help desk. While on desk, the ACCEL consultant is responsible for coordinating lab usage, charging and discharging laptops and other equipment, assisting users with general technical problems, perform routine lab opening and closing duties, and enforcing ACCEL and Cornell University computing policies.
ACCEL consultants are often asked to play an active role in maintaining the broader College of Engineering computing environment, including classroom technologies (projectors and audiovisual equipment), College of Engineering servers, and dedicated corporate computing resources. This additional responsibility adds valuable challenges and the potential for growth in the duties of an ACCEL consultant.
ACCEL is an equal opportunity employer.
